Never ever use Jennifer Edward's Photography!

Well, it's been a pretty interesting day. This morning as I was leaving my house, I noticed a little dog on the corner. I recognized him because I had seen him running down another street last night on my way home from work. I felt so sad for him, and he reminded me of Zoe. I got out of my car and picked him up. He was cold and shivering :( He had a collar on but it looked like the tag had been broken, so he definitely has a home. I fixed up and extra cage that we have in the garage and gave him food and water. I told Lee to take some pictures of him when he went home for lunch. When Lee got home, he said that the little guy was laying in the sun in the backyard (I had left the door in the garage open to the backyard). Aww, I thought that was cute. He also agreed to the mini photo shoot with Lee. Then as Lee was opening the garage door to go back to work, the little guy ran out and down the street. Lee chased him for a block, but gave up. I feel really sad about this and I hope that he was running away to go home. But if he knew where his home was, then why did I see him last night and this morning? I am going to drive around the neighborhood when I get home to see if I find him. If I don't, then I hope he went home because it's going to be cold outside. Lee was a good sport about the whole thing, as he never wants me to rescue a lost dog.

When I got to work, Lee informed me that our joint account was in the red. Crap! We were supposed to deposit money this weekend and we both totally forgot! So then he said that he was going to run down to the bank since it was close to his office. But then he didn't have his checkbook. So I had to leave work and drive to the bank because it was just that much too far for me to walk. Then I had to maneuver the (worst idea ever) one-way streets in order to get into the parking lot. The deposit took about .25 seconds and then I drove back to work, only to realize that there were no good parking spots left. I never have to deal with this because I get to work earlier than most (so I can leave earlier than most!)

All of the above happened before 8:30 this morning!

After discussing the photographer situation with Lee and my parents, we agreed that it was a good idea to terminate our contract with her and go with another one. It was good to have them back me up and now I don't feel like I was being over-dramatic. I had already done some searching yesterday and found a photographer that had actually done some friends' weddings, and they do beautiful work. I was nervous to ask for the price list, but they have something in every range, so that was good. I was under strict instructions from Lee to not go over the amount that we still owed the old photographer. Luckily, they had the perfect package, and much to my delight, they had an opening for our wedding day!!! I couldn't believe it! At my dad's suggestion, I wrote the old photographer a letter to terminate our contract, with many examples of why, and I requested that she send a DVD of our engagement session. I sent the letter certified mail with signature upon delivery. I was by no means rude in the letter, although I certainly made my point, but I am secretly excited that she will be blindsided. I was originally going to call her but this is a much better way to go. Over all, I feel so relieved that I have finally dealt with this situation we have been struggling with for a year. And I am really excited about the new place we're using! Yay!

After I mailed the letter I had a great dr appt during which I was told that i am free to wear whatever and exercise however I want, including lifting weights. Wahoo! I have been waiting for this for so long and I am totally excited to update my ipod tonight and get back on the real workout bandwagon!!

As if all of this wasn't enough for one day, something happened at work also. A good something, I think. It might be minor, and it might not even happen, and I will admit I'm a little fuzzy about what all the conversation meant, but I have a feeling it's going to involve somewhat of a change for me, if it happens. I was asked, by probably the co-worker I enjoy the most, if I would rather get more into the systems side of things instead of just doing returns all the time. Basically I would be doing what she's doing. At first I was a little intimidated because the programs we use here are very foreign to me. But, I don't like just doing returns all the time, so what can it hurt. And, as I mentioned in a previous post (in the nicest way possible, of course :) ), I am pretty good with computers. She said that I have caught on quickly to the stuff she and I have been working on, and apparently the person they had intended on doing this was not working out. I think that "management" will ultimately choose whoever they want to do this, but she is going to tell them that I am interested. I think this is good for several reasons: 1) I am pretty sure that I will not have to work with my current "group" if I start doing the systems stuff. And by "group" I mean the men that think I can't do anything, 2) I am pretty sure that I would be working more with the co-workers I like, 3) I'm pretty sure that i would be working, 4) I'm pretty sure I would get a laptop which I can't believe that no one has around here, 5) I'm pretty sure that the pay scale is different and I mean in the good way. I am not going to count my chickens before they hatch and I promised that I wouldn't tell anyone that we'd even had the conversation, so no telling.

Other good things that have happened today:
1. Isabelle sat in my lap while I got ready this morning, she usually does this, but she was extra cuddly today
2. I get to go to the mall after work
3. We found out that the wait for passports is only 3 weeks!
4. My tax return was accepted and I should get my refund in less than 2 weeks!
5. I found out that Lee will not fly off into another dimension if I pick up a stray :)
6. All of the time I wanted to take off for my wedding was approved with no problem!!

I hope that everyone is having a good day too!
