Weekend Update! (with Norm McDonald haha, remember SNL)

I know, I'm very funny.

We were boring this 4th of July weekend. I was still really tired from trying to get back into the groove after vacation. We did the following random things :)

On Thursday, We went to a little happy hour for Jackie's birthday at Oscar's. We had never been there (yes we are old and do not go out)(ever.) We liked the place and had lots of fun chatting with everyone. I was sad that we had to leave, but we had dinner plans at this italian restaurant at 91st & memorial. Oliveto's. You should try it, it will not disappoint. It's kind of like a step up from Zio's. Really good food.

On Friday, our day off of work, we woke up at the usual time to go to Lawton for the day. Boo 5:45am wake up on a day off! Anywho, we drove down to Lawton so that we could return some wedding gifts. And we had lunch with his dad and some family friends. We didn't realize that Zac Brown Band and Tim McGraw were playing there! All day everyone kept saying we should stay but we only brought ourselves, no toothbrush, nada. So we couldn't stay. The gift-returning was a success though! We now have a new fan for what will soon be Lee's man room (which was originally my scrapbooking room, then became wedding crap storage room. i am giving it up for the greater good). We also got a really nice step ladder for all of the painting that will be done in the next couple of months! Oh, and we got a martini shaker :) I think Lee also got some kind of water sprayer attachment for the hose. Pretty good job for having to shop at a hardware store!!
On Saturday (4th of July), we didn't do a whole lot. Went to my parents' for lunch, and ended up going to some friends' house until way later than we had planned. Aubree put on a dance recital for all of the girls there. Hilarious and adorable. Just 6 months ago she never would have done that! She used to be super shy, but she is getting over it. We went home and had frozen meals for dinner since we hadn't gone grocery shopping since we returned from Jamaica. (don't tell anyone that I still haven't gone)

On Sunday I think I finally caught up on all of my sleep. I got up at 8, but I pretty much slept on the couch off and on until 2pm! That is very unlike me, but I seriously could not stay awake! Finally after my 6 hour nap, I decided to run the errands I had been talking about all weekend. We finally have a new vacuum!!! This is the vacuum we used to have:

Less than 6 months after we got it, it started making the loudest noise ever. It seriously hurt our ears to used the thing. We took it somewhere and the guy basically said that it was the motor and nothing could be done about it. He said that we could still use it, but one day it would catch on fire! lol. So we have still been using it for the last 6 months or so because we were trying to avoid buying a new one! But we couldn't avoid it any longer and I was afraid it would blow up or something. Luckily we got lots of Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards for the wedding and we used them to purchase this beauty!

It is quiet and works like a charm :)

After I ran my errands, Lee and I put together a new bookcase from Target that we got for his man room. I should have taken a picture of the actual one in his room. I really like it! And we didn't yell at each other while putting it together like we used to do!

When we finished with the bookcase, this is what I found in the living room:

Isabelle laying on top of the towels IN the laundry basket! She loves to be up high and she loves laying on top of clean laundry. But I have never found her IN the basket!

hahaha! She's so frigging cute!! :) Gracie likes to be up high too. It's bizarre. So glad you guys came to Oscars for a bit!! :) And glad you came early too. I may have had a few drinks when the "later" people came and I worried that I didnt talk to them..or that I didnt make sense when I did. *Shrug* I'm jealous of the vacuum. I really want a new one. Really!
