Elevator walkers unite!!!
Random fact about me. Every time I am on an escalator, I walk. I don't just stand there until I have reached the top or bottom. I actually walk up or down the stairs. I never really even noticed I did this until Lee and I started dating. The first time we go on an escalator together, probably at the mall or something, I walked down it and when I got off I expected him to be there, but I looked up and he was still riding the escalator! He thought it was weird that I walked it. He still does and he still won't walk it with me! Anyway, we have several escalators in the building I work in. I ride 2 of them every morning and night. One is really slow and one is normal speed. I have noticed that people like to ride the slow one and walk up the regular speed one. What? That makes no sense to me. I get annoyed when people don't walk them, especially the slow one. I feel lazy if I just stand there waiting to reach my destination. Oh and I'm impatient. I know, I know, I hide it so well that no one knew :) And now for the point of my ramble! I started a new workout routine this week that involves lunges, and let me tell you that I am NOT in shape! My legs hurt for 3 days after only about 20 lunges! I seriously couldn't walk normally. And most importantly, I couldn't walk the escalator!!! The horror!! I felt so bad every time I just stood there when there were people behind me. I wanted to explain to them that I usually do walk the thing but I was in a great deal of pain. Sometimes I felt so bad that I endured the excruciating pain of going up or down the steps. I am very happy to say that my legs are back to normal and I now have a new found outlook on elevator riders. I shouldn't be impatient with them, maybe they did some calisthenics that prohibit them from walking. I'm sure that's it. Either that or they are just lazy. :)
I am really excited because I just changed the location of our rehearsal dinner! Because our rehearsal at the chapel has to be so early (4:30), I don't feel so bad about the restaurant being so far away (Catoosa to South Tulsa). So I contacted The Bistro, which was my first choice for the dinner. They did have a tentative reservation so they weren't sure if the dining room would be available. 4 days later I still hadn't heard from them, so I called back last night expecting bad news. Much to my delight, the other party had cancelled!!!!! Yippee!!! I promptly cancelled the other location. Lee was annoyed that I didn't consult with him and he was concerned about it being way more expensive. I was annoyed that he was annoyed and I let him know that the food at both places was about the same price. I forgot to tell him about the room minimum. Oopsie. Everyone better drink up! :)
I use lots of smiley faces, I just notice that. I don't care I like them. :) And I am usually smiling when I write, unless I am on a rant, which I will now do :)
I had a very painful meeting at work this morning. It was just the group that I work with, so like 5 people including me. We all know Jim, or as I like to call him these days, Darth Vader. You know, because of the face mask thing and all :) DV, you are 186 years old, you should not raise your hand, point finger, make the boy scout sign, etc. when you have something to say while someone else is talking. If you have something to say and you don't want to interrupt, simply write down your thought and wait. Like the rest of us. Geez. The entire meeting was 4 people trying to talk at once and arguing and getting mad. I wish that blogger had the emoticons like instant messenger, because I'm pretty sure that my face looked like the little guy with really big eyes and raised eyebrows the entire time. Except for when the hand raising, etc happened. During those times, I placed my hand over my mouth so that I wouldn't laugh or scream at him. Oh, and to everyone, please don't argue with people just to make their idea sound bad. It's rude and you aren't really doing any of the work anyways so you can just keep your opinions to yourself. Man, I thought I worked with professional adults, but seriously that TWO HOUR meeting that could have been accomplished in 30 minutes was an embarrassment. I felt like I needed to call Mikey P and go smoke a j just to calm down. And maybe take my co-workers with me. Just kidding, I don't do that. But if there was ever a time to start, that would have been it.
I am so glad that it's Friday, this week has been one of the rare ones that felt like forever. Lee and I decided that we're going to dinner tonight instead of tomorrow and I'm happy about it. AND we're going to see a movie! Yay! I want to see the new Friday the 13th, but Lee is going out of town for a few days at the beginning of March, and my fright would not be gone by then, so I decided it wasn't a good idea. We're going to see Taken instead. I REALLY want to see Confessions of a Shopaholic, but I figured I wouldn't push my luck :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
