P.S. I had another nightmare last night!
This week I began parking in a different place for work. I now park in an uncovered lot one block away from the office while I used to park in a covered garage about 25 steps away. I actually like the new place better, and, because you asked, I will tell you why.
1. The spots in the lot are much larger than the ones in the garage, thus, no more door dings.
2. The sun shines on my car in the lot, thus I get into a warm car even when it's cold.
3. It is WAY cheaper than the garage. Way cheaper.
4. I no longer have to see the parking attendant that verbally assaulted me in the garage.
Really, my only complaint is that my walk to work now requires me to huff and puff up a rather steep hill that is 1/2 a block long. Seriously, when I say huff and puff, I mean it.
Another work-related thought. I typically work 7:30-4:30 now. I love it! And if I get here earlier, I leave earlier. But my eating schedule is thrown off because I eat breakfast earlier, so I get hungry for lunch earlier, and I have a snack earlier, and basically I want dinner at like 4!
So I would like to tell another wedding drama story. If you are tired of my ranting, you can skip this, my feelings won't be hurt :)
Ooooookay. So. We are reserving rooms at 2 hotels. Because one is the Cherokee Casino, and some of the older folk will not want to stay there. And it's kinda expensive in my opinion. It was going to work out perfectly because there was a Holiday Inn Express that was also really close. Well, I have been trying to reserve a block of rooms since January. That was 2 months ago in case you weren't aware. Basically, you have to call the group sales dept in charge of all of the hotels, then they send something to the specific hotel we want, then that hotel is supposed to email me with a room quote and I accept it and we're done. Oh, if only it were that simple. The specific hotel I needed would never get back to me. I have called the group sales department probably 4 times. They were very nice, and it wasn't their fault. Each time, they tried to reach the general manager of the hotel and never could because she was "in meetings". Finally, today, the group sales lady left an urgent message for the manager to call me on my cell phone, which she just did. She was incredibly rude when I answered. She didn't understand what the message was all about. So I calmly and politely (seriously) explained to her the whole story I just told. Her response was: "So what are you needing from me" Huh? TO RESERVE A BLOCK OF ROOMS!!! Dude. She acted totally put off and like she didn't want to help me at all. So I told her nevermind, I would just go with another hotel. She acted shocked! And then she was nice and couldn't possibly understand why I would say that. And then she asked if the people at the group sales were rude, and I said no, that she was. Anywho, long story (not so) short, I am now switching hotels. And there isn't anything that's as close so I feel sort of bad, but what can you do. Crap, now I have to change the map for the invites.
And, to end on a positive, I kind of like messing with the invites so I don't really care that I have to change the map :)

Congrats on the new parking spot. ;) We reserved blocks of rooms at The Ambassador and The Crowne Plaza downtown for our wedding guests. In both cases it was as simple as me making a phone call, talking to the right person, then they emailed me confirmation of the rooms that were blocked off, with the rate, the code word to use when placing reservations, etc. Simple as pie. I am sorry you are having problems. There are just too many bitchy people in this world, in my humble opinion. Hope things get easier for you.
