Monday Funday
On Friday, Lee's boss surprised them with an email telling them to take off President's day. Plus, Lee works 9-80's (80 hours in 9 days) and gets every other Friday off, and last Friday was his day off so he got a 4-day weekend. Jerk.
Let's see...what did we do this weekend? Hmmm, oh that's right, nothing that we planned!!! Grrr. On Saturday, I had planned to go to the lovely Tag Agency where they are just so unhappy to help you and get my new license plate (!!). That did not happen because I didn't have my newest insurance thingy. Wonderful. I never do. Then we drove both of our cars all the way out to BA to get new rear tires for my car. Yippee!! $300 for two things I don't even care about? Sign me up! Well when we got there, they informed us that they had to order the tires which is usually not a problem on weekdays, but they can't get them in on weekends. WONDERFUL. Just so everyone knows, I did call the day before to see if I needed to do anything before I came in for new tires and they said no, to just come on in. Great. So the guy said that they could do it on Monday. I informed him that we live in midtown and can't just drive out to east BA on a workday, and it would have to wait until the next weekend. [Even though I can be a bitch, I just want to say that I was really nice about all of this, the guys there are actually really nice and I always get my tires there.] After we finished running errands in BA, which was what we had planned to do while waiting for my car to be finished, they guy called and said that he could get the tires that day if we still wanted to. What?! Ugh, dude, thanks for calling after we had run all of our errands and were now heading back out to Tulsa. No, unfortunately that won't work for us. I hate it when I have a day all planned out and nothing goes right. (as a side note, I can't get the tires next weekend because I forgot Lee's mom is coming into town to shop for mob/g dresses with me and my mom (my level of excitement for that is an entire post in itself), so Lee is taking my car today since i also forgot that he has today off. again, jerk.)
We also went to Sams on Saturday with my dad. We were shopping for candy for the wedding (that was a success!!). While I was making not of the price and weight of all the candy, I noticed that the rest of my party disappeared. What? They don't want to do the stats on the amount and cost of the candy we need? Weird... I did finally find them, staring at the huge steaks. Men. Lee and I did decide that we need to renew our membership though. Who doesn't love buying 8 deodorants at a time? I know I do!!!
On Sunday we babysat Paxton! Yay!! I guess that you could say Paxton is my pseudo-nephew. His dad is basically another son to my parents and a brother to me and Tyler. They also have a girl, Aubree who is 3 and adorable and our flower girl! Anywho, Paxton is 1 and we don't know him as well as we did Aubree at that age because we just don't see them as much. We had probably only seen him 3-4 times before last night. They brought him over while they took Aubree to a Disney thing. Pax screamed his head off when Olen handed him over, as I expected. But as soon as he left and Lee turned on Spongebob, he was a happy camper for the rest of the time! :) He is so cute, and he just sat in my lap and we read and played with his toys. Then he sat in Lee's lap for a while to eat some Cheerios. It was fun to see Lee with him because we are never really around babies :) Neither are Isabelle and Zoe for that matter, and they do not like small humans. Especially when they walk around. Haha! Yay for when we finally get to have some of our own!!!
This morning it was really hard for me to get up :( And now I am still tired and grumpy that I have to be at work when I don't even do anything. My goal for this week is to go to the real estate academy and sign up for the class that starts in March! (I'm climbing on my soapbox for one sec) And I would just like to tell all of you nay-sayers that, yes, being a RE agent can be risky and no it is not a steady paycheck and I am fully aware of all of the risks involved in this and no I am not stupid enough to quit my current job before I am doing the other for a while and know that I can support my family doing that alone. And I know that I CAN and WILL do really well in that field and when I am I will make sure and remind you of when you discouraged me from my dream. Thank you and good day!
