Meaningless
Today has been creeping by slowly and I don't like it. I am thinking about going to Starbucks to get out of the office for a minute.
I took Lee to the airport this morning :( The girls are going to be very confused tonight. None of us like it when he's gone. I'm sure that they will bark at every noise they hear tonight thinking it's him. I am excited to hang out lots with Mary though. And to go to Sonoma for her birthday tomorrow!
Last night, Lee and I were talking about things that we will never take for granted after living in Midtown. Here are a few for your reading pleasure:
- indoor laundry
- closet space
- a 2-car garage
- new, or relatively new, plumbing
- a privacy fence
- neighbors that do not hot glue miniature cars to the sides of their truck bed
And a couple of things that we will surely miss:
- our huge yard
- original wood floors, I love old wood floors
- Bob, our wonderful 85+ year old neighbor who places our weekend paper on our doorstep and puts our trash cans back after the trashmen come, every single time :)
Things Isabelle and Zoe will miss:
- birds
- tons of squirrels running all over the yard
- the bunny family that lives in our neighborhood
- Big Money, our neighbor's 150 lb bull mastiff that lets them lick his nose but hates me and Lee
Things Isabelle and Zoe won't miss:
- Chloe, the wiener dog behind us that barks incessantly at them
My parents are on Facebook. Both of them. Yesterday my dad's "status" said "Dean Denton is outta here....see you on the flip side." He is 63 years old.

haha.. I feel ya on the midtown woes.. and also the adoration, too. It's really love-hate. :) If I was getting married and prepping for a fam, I cant say I wouldnt consider going south for sure. Your dad is hilarious! That's awesome. hahaaha.. With more and more co workers getting on fb, Im editing mine daily practially.. My "limited profile" keeps getting bigger! Arg!
And I feel ya on the layoffs...Its scary. It makes me not want to complain about my job..when in fact its healthy to vent every now and then...but still..
um... neighbors gluing miniature cars to the side of their truck? what what? i grew up in mid-town and unfortunately, that is a phenomenon i never saw. so sad that i missed such entertainment. ;) oh and, my parents are both on facebook too. let's just say that i backed off a bit once they joined. lol.
I just laughed outloud for like 10 minutes about your dad's status. That's awesome on so many levels. My mom just joined and I told her she really shouldn't be on facebook. I mean there should be an age limit don't you think.
also i do realize that it is out loud not outloud, but i have pregnancy brain and do not spell check. I am sure there are several other spelling and grammatical mistakes in the above message. Please do not point them out to me. Okay I'm an idiot....bye!
