Tough Stuff
I just found out that a friend of a friend got laid off from his job today. I happened to go to college with him, and although I don't personally know him, I know that he and his wife are great people. I feel so bad for them. Until now, the reality of the layoffs that have been happening haven't really hit home. It is so scary that any one of us could go into work one day and leave jobless. I am the newest person at my job, so I know that if they needed to let anyone go, it would be me. Lee just told me that his company is selling one of their pipes (they are an O&G company). They told him that so far no one will be affected, but you really never know. Ugh, I don't like this grown up stuff.

Yes, this economy sucks balls. I've never known so many people on unemployment before. I'd be on it myself, but apparently if you're self-employed and business dries up, it's impossible to get unemployment. I actually WISH I'd been let go from a job right now. How pathetic is that?
